Bill's Story
William "Bill" Haskell was born in 1945 and joined the Marine Corps at the height of the Vietnam war. While in Vietnam he was awarded a Silver Star, Bronze Star, and a Purple Heart. In May 1969, he was seriously wounded when a bullet passed through the bridge of his nose, through his right eye, and out the side of his head. Bill healed from his wounds and went on to become a successful businessman and adventurer. Later in his life he became an avid runner, running the Marine Corps Marathon each year. It was after a 10 mile training run for his 20th marathon in 2017 that Bill didn't feel well and went to the doctor.
